Yes finally my diploma is over. Yet another important agenda ticked off. It all happened like a flash, I can't seem to recall the actual situation already. All I knew was, my fingers were stiff like wood by the time I came out of the freezing room. Thank you all for your concern, I do appreciate them very much.

If you are wondering whether I did well, hmm actually I am also wondering, I am not sure too. Mixed feelings of mine, varied expressions of the examiners, and a full page of scribbling on my marksheet.

I DON'T HAVE THE SLIGHTEST INKLING.

But I'd be happy enough if I were to pass, yes just a "pass", not a clear pass, not a high pass, not a distinction, just a pass and I will be over the moon, sun, or any other thing that you can think of.

Hope, hope, and only hope. It is two months before the quantum possibilities of my diploma result collaspes into one. It's like "Don't tell me the results of the soccer match, I'll watch it myself", the same logic it is.

I thought that I'd be much more relieved after this exam. But my current emotional state doesn't endorse the prediction. Well well, the important thing is, I'm watching harry potter with my dear dear dear tomorrow afternoon, and that is definitely something to look forward to right?

Specialist Course

This few days has been of an emotional roller coaster.
It showed me how time can be wasted, and therefore how it should be utilised.
It showed me how things can be done inefficaciously, and therefore we should do things well.
It showed me the diversity of homo sapiens that I can possibly meet, and you can learn different things from different people.

I shall give a recount of the first day of my camp. It was written halfway before the start of the speech by Captain James Foo. I had written in blue ink.

The morning journey has been of a cold one. I went up the bus and sat with Xing Qiang who sat inside. I felt the unusual chill tickling me, although it was not strong initially. I sank into the cushioned seat, thinking of what to do next. Nothing, sleep, I thought, and I slowly let my eyelids cascade. The cold was becoming unsubtle, it was starting to blanket me with uncomfortable chill. I stacked my arms on my already uneasy stomach. Had it got a bit colder, my stomach would have succumbed to the inexorable call of nature.

Screw it.

The people around me were chatty, I could not even fall into a moment of unconsciousness. It's just another day of time wasting, I thought.

Soon, but not very, we had reached the camp. It was the somehow familiar Pasir Laba camp, with fresh looking accomodation....

I wrote til there. I didn't want to continue afterwards, I was too depressed to. Yesterday, I had knew that I attained a 3rd Seargeant for the course. It was not a surprise, I would be surprised if I had got a 2nd Seargeant. Those few days had been of mental torture, and that is not the optimal condition for me to perform.

Bah. Forget it, I don't really care since I had stepped into BCTC. I was happy enough to be at home, to be closer to civilisation, to be closer to humanity.

Congratulations to those who got a 2nd Seargeant. I should have been one of you. Well well, I do sound like whining very much.

The last day of school

Guess this quite a special day. 2 of our teachers are leaving us, Miss Ong and Miss Tan will be leaving us. Well, they should, if not they will stay here until they are old? After my smp today, Miss Tan came to the concourse to mark files, I was intending to do my compo. After a while, we started to talk about music, yes, and that was 3pm+. We wanted to play the piano there but the NPCC was there, so we waited for some time, then Miss Tan and I enthusiastically rushed there to fufil our musical talks. We played and played, and lost track of time. It was rare though, I hardly find anyone to share my musical experiences and fantasies, so thank you Miss Tan, I had a great time, hope you did too.

Yet another disturbing incident

A 17-YEAR-OLD student of one of Singapore’s top junior colleges allegedly punched a bus driver in the face during a quarrel on Wednesday.
The 53-year-old SBS Transit driver tried to stop the Hwa Chong Institution student from leaving.
The teen’s girlfriend, who is from another school, had been found to be using an invalid concession card.
The bus driver, who suffered minor bruises on his face, was given two days medical leave. He has lodged a police report against the student, and the police said they are investigating.
SBS Transit said it is taking the matter seriously as the driver was assaulted in the course of his duty.

When his friend tapped the card against the card reader, the card reader beeped continuously. He claimed the bus driver had not given any explanation.
He wrote: 'The bus driver detained us and didn't allow us to proceed. He asked her to produce the card and took it without explanation.

Anyway, I think that the whole thing wasn't an accident. That is what I think though, maybe I am wrong. I think this has nothing got to do with the school, in contrast to what Chadin has said, it is the character of the person. It is the upbringing of the person, many factors contibute to this.

Maybe our education system is partly responsible for this, but either way, I'm not shocked, but quite disturbing. I haven't witness any of these incident before, rather it is natural for kids in developed countries to evolve towards that direction.

Some may say that social egalitarianism is to be blamed. Kids are talking about human rights, but I think it's alright to do so, no problem, it is HUMAN RIGHTS. You see, even I'm talking about it.

Organic Chemicals Discovered in Titan’s High Atmosphere

Since the twin Voyager spacecraft flew past Saturn’s moon Titan, Scientists have been excited about what its hazy atmosphere can tell us about the earliest days of our own planet. The Voyagers discovered that Titan’s atmosphere is swirling with hydrocarbons and other complex organic molecules that could be the building blocks of life. The latest findings from NASA’s Cassini spacecraft have uncovered these organic molecules floating higher in Titan’s atmosphere than scientists originally thought possible.

This latest research has been published in the May 11, 2007 edition of the Journal Science. It shows that these organic aerosols, called tholins, have been found in altitudes higher than 1,000 kilometres (620 miles) above the surface of Titan. And these molecules are formed differently than how scientists originally believed.

This inquiry is important because the Titan’s environment is thought to be very similar to the Earth’s early history, before the first life formed. A similar process could have happened here.

Living Under the Crescent Moon

Yes, I visited the National Museum of Singapore today, and many other historical sites with my father. I went to this exhibition named Under the Crescent Moon, here's the website http://www.nationalmuseum.sg/crescent_moon/. It is an interesting exhibition, if not I wouldn't be blogging about it, with lots of artefacts and some art installation.

The exposition aims to reveal more about the arab culture, the focus was on the domestic aspect. You get to see many pictures of their houses, old and new, you'll be impressed by their architecture characteristics, their intention to preserve their heritage of building style. The new generation of arab houses are like those square houses you see in movies(but nicer of course) with a garage beside. O.o

There was a also an installation art piece, where you get to climb onto a small bridge which cannot support more than 12 people. They play clips of war, wreck, destruction and violence. You may feel a-bit heavy hearted after seeing that. But I don't know, the perception of art varies from person to person.

It has further enforced my idea of religion differences between people are quite scary, and often lead to destructive actions. And not sorting out the differences properly may result in very grave misunderstanding, which makes people do meaningless but wretched things. Therefore I have this principle of not having any religion. It is the best way to live, I think.

The whole thing should not take you more than 2 hours.

The last thing is, you need not pay to go in. But you may need some money for parking. :)
